Pride – celebrating our authentic selves

June has been a celebration of Pride as well as a time to reflect on the hardships that the LGBTQIA+ community has had to endure. June 28th, 2021 marks 52 years since the Stonewall riots, which is considered a pivotal event in the LGBTQIA+ liberation movement. We realize that the fight is far from over and we are committed to fostering an open-minded environment and a safe space for diversity, equality, and inclusion. We value and respect all our customers, partners, and employees no matter their gender, sexual orientation, or race. We celebrate our differences because they make us stronger and allow us to create outstanding customer service software that people want and need.

We believe in empowering our employees and giving them responsibility and autonomy to thrive professionally whilst offering a supportive environment to fall back on. Not many organizations can honestly state that their employees are proud to work for them, which is why we were extremely delighted with the results of our employee survey, where 100% of our employees stated that they are proud to work for Luware. What does Pride mean to our employees and how are they fostering an inclusive culture? Read their statements below.

Simon Oberholzer
Interim Head of Finance

“To me, Pride means knowing who I am and being confident in my capabilities and strengths. It means appreciating my way of life, whilst still accepting alternative views. Being out not only in my personal life but also at work, I am proud to give the LGBTIQ+ community a face and a voice and to act as a possible role model for other, especially younger, queers. I am also proud to be a Luwarian, because we value everyone – no matter their social background, race, gender, or sexual orientation. We accomplish awesome things together and celebrate our joint successes whilst supporting each other. Luware has built an inclusive workplace by valuing each individual and paying attention to character and not only skills when acquiring new talents. Luware offers a safe workspace with zero tolerance for discrimination and gives every employee the opportunity to unfold their full potential and honors everyone as a valued member of our Luwarian family. I am celebrating pride by being out and proud at work, joining forces with friends and family to build awareness for the „Ehe für Alle“ vote, and bringing color to streets of Zurich by participating in the Pride parade on 4th September 2021.”

Lisbeth Haberbauer

I am incredibly grateful to work for Luware because even though we are a diverse bunch with different backgrounds and interests, everyone is very welcoming and interested in learning more about you. I am celebrating Pride by acknowledging my privileges and vowing to work hard to make sure everyone has the same chances in life.”

Chris Foot
Marketing & Backoffice Manager

“To me, Pride means celebrating everyone’s unique selves. What I appreciate at Luware is that if you can prove that you are the best at what you do, that’s all that matters. No one cares about your background, sexual orientation, or gender. It’s about your skills and how you will fit into the Luware family. I am celebrating pride by being my authentic self and celebrating individuality.”

Nora Kennedy
CEO & Management Assistant

“Pride to me means being proud of who I am and not worrying about what others think about me. I am proud to be a Luwarian because I feel that everyone at Luware can be their authentic self and are seen for who they are and what they can achieve. No matter whom they love, what color their skin is, or in what believes they hold. At Luware, everyone is treated equally. Anything less is not excepted! I am celebrating pride by showing my support as an LGBTQ+ ally and creating awareness for the cause of having equal rights and respect for one another, regardless of who you love. Because Love is Love.”
