The Beginning
Founding (2010)
Luware began as a bachelor thesis by Michael Jakob, Andreas Kobler and Philipp Beck. They envisioned a more efficient customer service through combining Microsoft Unified Communications with Contact Centers.
Proof of Concept
They developed the software at the Rapperswil University of Applied Sciences in Switzerland. The solution combined Microsoft Office Communication Server (predecessor of Skype for Business) with a leading Contact Center solution.
First Customer
Despite Cisco, rejecting the used API they found their first cutomer Medicall. Trough the team's complementary strengths: Hans Ruedi Hänni's Contact Center experience, Philipp's Microsoft expertise, Michael's software knowledge, and the professor's network.
Growth
Loyal Customer
Medicall, a 24/7 contact center, remains a customer to this day. We are immensely proud of our long-standing partnership. Their continued trust is a testament to the high stability and scalability of our solutions.
Organic Growth
The company grew organically, starting with a small team of 4 developers and 1 salesperson in Technopark in the heart of Zurich.
International Expansion
We expanded our operations internationally, establishing a presence first in Belarus and subsequently in Poland. These ventures marked the beginning of our global journey. Notably, two of our original four developers remain integral members of the Luware family, a testament to our commitment to fostering a strong company culture.

Microsoft Partner of the Year (2012)
Luware is awarded with the Microsoft Partner of the Year in the category of enterprise voice. This award remains a cornerstone of our success and is proudly displayed in our Zurich office.
Microsoft Gold Partner Status (2012)
Achieved Microsoft Gold Partner status, solidifying our deep expertise in Microsoft technologies.
Growth and Big Deal (2016)
Reached around 100 customers and secured a major deal with UBS for 30,000 users, showcasing our ability to impress large enterprises despite our small size at the time.
10-Year Anniversary (2020)
One decade of Luware! One decade of Luware! A significant milestone for our company. In ten years, we've grown to a team of 140 dedicated individuals. The trust our customers place in us is humbling as all of them (except 2) are still with us.
New Beginnings
The Birth of Luware Nimbus (2022)
The impending retirement of Skype for Business presented a pivotal moment for Luware. Recognizing the shift to cloud-based communication, we embarked on an ambitious project: the creation of Luware Nimbus. This represented a complete overhaul of our technology stack, resulting in a cutting-edge, cloud-native contact center solution designed to meet the evolving needs of our customers.
Today
Today, Luware is a thriving company with over 150 dedicated employees. Our commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences has led to a growing customer base of over 1,000 satisfied clients.
Both our flagship solutions have earned Microsoft certification, solidifying our position as a leading provider of cloud-based contact center solutions.
