Martina – The Perfect Fit
How Luware prevented Martina from giving up her career in the tech industry.
Martina was close to giving up her career in tech, but then she found Luware. “I immediately knew that Luware was the perfect fit for me. Most companies are only interested in what you’ve achieved, but Luware wanted to know who I was as a person.”
As a Pre-Sales Engineer, Martina is the bridge between Development and Sales. She has a thorough overview of the product and its functionality and supports the sales team as a technical expert. In her words: “I determine the technical requirements for our clients and liaise with the development team to see how we can implement these. But I also do many other things around that, such as help sales lead more targeted demos and test new features when they come out.” After a master’s degree in computer science, Martina spent ten years working as a Software Test Engineer, consulting banks, multinationals, and administrations on test management and automation. She learned to perform all kinds of tests, from automation to end-to-end testing and learned to gain a holistic overview of software from its infrastructure to its application. But at some point, constantly focusing on problems started to wear on her. Martina took some time off and moved to the French alps. She thought she was done with the tech space and tried many different things, including teaching, climbing, and kinesiotherapy. But when she met two mountain guides on one of her climbs that needed help with a website, she realized lots of people struggle with IT and need help and that she has the skills to support them. “Helping them with the website was such a cool project because it made them happy, and that gave me something back. I am happy when my work is needed and valued, and I realized that maybe I’m not done with IT after all,” says Martina. At Luware, Martina found exactly what she was looking for. She says: “here, my input is valued and listened to, and I get to actively shape a product, which is a lot of fun. Despite living in Chamonix and working remotely, I feel like I’m completely integrated and still have the flexibility to follow other passions, such as running and climbing.
